Today we welcome Sarah Trites and Jon McGovern to the blog as they share their experience getting the Covid-19 Vaccine.   Self-Advocates want to encourage others to get vaccinated and one way they are doing that is by sharing their experience!

Sarah Trites was able to receive her Covid-19 Vaccine at her home and shares here story.
“There was a nurse that came to my housing complex from Augusta to give residents the Johnson and Johnson Vaccine shot.  There were two shots left over and I was called to see if I was interested in receiving the vaccine.   The nurse and someone who works at my housing complex came to my home.  The nurse gave me the shot and then they sat observed me for a while to make sure I didn’t have any immediate side-effects.  I was tired for about a day, and my arm ached for about 3 days.  I didn’t experience any other side effects.  I did have to show my insurance card and they helped me with the paperwork.   I think getting vaccinated is a very good thing so that people won’t get sick.”

Jon McGovern also shared his story of getting a Covid-19 Vaccine.

Hi my name is Jon McGovern. I got my Covid Vaccine on Tuesday March 30th 2021 & it was the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine.  It did not hurt or make me sick, dizzy or get a Headache. Some think the Vaccine is bad.  Getting the Vaccine is not all that bad.  There are a lot of questions that people will ask.  Will the Vaccine Protect me or will it not protect me?  If you want to know more about Covid-19 Vaccine you can ask someone that has gotten the vaccine or look it up online for some answers like on the CDC website. Just remember the vaccine will save your life & we can all get back together in person.
